When you use PHDwin, you can create certain items that are private to you or that can be shared with all other users in the database. These items include views, sorts, filters, graphs, and report tables. When you create one of these items, you get to choose the access level, which assigns privileges and defines who can make changes to it. The access level is set by the user and is tied to the PHDwin user name - which is your Windows or SQL Server login that is used when you log into the database.
Different Access Levels
•Public -
- All users will be able to see the item, but only the person who created the item will have access to edit or delete it.
•Private -
- Only the user who created the sort, filter etc, will be able to see, use, make edits to, or delete the information. No other users will even see the item when using PHDwin. If the user is creating an item that no one else needs access to, this would be an appropriate setting.
•All -
- All users can see, edit or delete this item.
Note: Once an item has been designated with All Access, it cannot be switched back to public or private.
