Different methods are used to add cases to PHDwin. Adding a Single Case 1.Go to the Home Ribbon. 2.From the Tools Section, click on Add/Import and choose the case type, such as Standard Case. The new case will show up at the bottom of the case list. Click on it to edit it.
Copying an Existing Case Find the case on the Case List, right-click, and click Duplicate. This case is an exact copy of the selected case with a "- Dup" added to the end of the case name indicating it's a duplicate of the base case. Click on it to modify the information as necessary. Creating Cases with the Prospect Rig Scheduler The Prospect Case Creator is useful for building a series of cases at once. The cases will be generated by copying the settings from a success case template. An optional dry hole case template can be added as template for the dry hole cases (if applicable). The cases economic start dates can be scheduled to be staggered into the future based on a schedule of specified. Creating Cases with Grid Editor Using the grid editor to build cases is similar to the single case option, this option is used to create multiple cases at once using the grid editor. When using this this option, type in the case's name and all of the header information in the grid editor. Importing data to build cases Imported data from custom spreadsheets or standard file types from data vendors such as Drilling Info, IHS, Welldatabase, and Lasser are useful for creating new cases. If the ID Code used to import the data does not match an existing case in the database, a new case will be created. |
Before deleting any cases from PHDwin, be aware that once a case has been deleted, it cannot be restored. It is possible to restore from a backup, but restoring to a previous point in time may mean that some recent work is lost. Before attempting to delete a case, it is recommended to export the database to have a back up to fall back on. To delete cases from the database: 1.Go to the Default Scenario to view all cases. 2.Go to the Case List and highlight the case or cases to Delete. 3.Right-click on the selected area and select Delete or use the delete button on the keyboard to delete the selected cases. |
